Suzi Dennis: I began painting at an early age but gave it up for twenty-five years to raise a family. In 1987, I picked up a brush again and took up watercolors. Several years after the return to painting, I began exploring the world of mixed media artwork. I am a painter and love to give delight to others through my art. From 1987 until 2017, I explored all kinds of painting media and journal making, selling my work at art fairs across the county. In January 2017 I took a pottery class to “mark it off my bucket list” and never looked back. For me, pottery has become a new canvas where I can continue to create the images in my head but in a way they can be used and enjoyed. I work with low fire clay, white and terra cotta. My process is to hand build each piece, bisque fire, paint, glaze and fire. All pieces are food safe, microwave safe and dishwasher safe.
