Sharon Barber has a passion for purses. She sews and paints, glues and hammers, cuts and drills, sands and finishes in the process of making purses that are like no others. Driven by her own need for a stylish and convenient accessory that could be customized quickly for multiple occasions without having to transfer the contents, she created a one-of-a-kind purse that is patented.
“I make my art because I like to create unique things and most of the time I use non-typical materials.” The techniques Sharon employs ensure that each piece is something special, incorporating wood, fine fabrics, leather, paper maché, feathers and crystals.
“It is sometimes an obsession, sometimes fun. After I have a design that I’m finally pleased with, it contains a little part of me. I’ve always had an eye for detail and have always been creating something.”
