Bio:
Carla has a God given talent that has been evident all of her life, through grade school, high school and some of that artistic ability was used as the way she made a living as an adult. She opened a sign shop in 1980 and did commercial sign work, and that spilled over into more artistic decorative signs which she sold to Cracker Barrel restaurants and other gifts shops across the U.S. But all of her life she wanted to oil paint. She always knew she had it in her, but didn't know how to get it out. Mainly self taught in art, the year she turned 50, Carla had the opportunity to take a short class in oil painting, with Mrs. Annie Gaucher at a small church in Velvet Ridge. That got her started and now she enjoys painting florals, still life and everyday scenes.
